Places of Interest?

This entry is to link you all to places of interest. :)

I have since been accepted into the community of das_sporking, under my ng55snarkings account! So from there I will post fanfic sporkings. :D

ng55snarkings Alternate account, go there for my fanfic sporking details and links.

NintendoGal55 on YouTube
My YouTube account in which I discuss, retrospect, review, play, and occasionally rant about things.

Other YouTube
This was my first YouTube account. ...I highly advise against it, a lot of my stuff on there SUCKS. Really sucks. So, if you're going to write comments on there and complain, don't say I didn't warn you.

Fanfiction.net My FF.net account, under the same name. But PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT READ MY OLDER STORIES!!!! So again, if you're going to comment on how much they suck, in my defense, I wrote them YEARS ago. So please, keep that in mind.

deviantART My dA page, not much to say about that. ...And yes, a lot of my stuff sucks.

Blip I post most if not all of my NG55 videos here.

Tumblr Yes, a Tumblr. XD Go see if you want.

Basic FAQ

Not that anyone would ask. XD But regardless, I’ve compiled a quick little FAQ answering some basic questions that you need not ask. I’ll be putting this in a couple of other places for reference, since, yeah, I can’t exactly retain posts here.

All right, let’s begin. Click the break to see more about my crazy self.

What is your real name?

I am not very comfortable revealing that information. I will tell you my first name, but not my last. My real name is Cassandra. But please don’t call me that over the internet. I don’t know, I feel odd when that happens. You’re welcome to call me Cass, though. Unless I tell you otherwise, that’s fine by me. But on the ‘net, I prefer my pen names.

Where do you live?

Also not comfortable revealing that information. But I live in Canada, in the province of Quebec.

How old are you?

I’m twenty-two, was born in 1990.

What’s your sign?

I am a Taurus!

Your nationality?

Canadian, baby! :D But ancestral wise, I am French, Irish and Lebanese. Yeah, you’d believe me on the first two, but not the last. Except for the fact that I am dark-haired.

What does your username mean?

To be clear, I am not some Nintendo geek with EVERY Nintendo game ever made. I did, however, grow up with Nintendo consoles and the games I played on them, all of which brought on fond memories. So it’s a basic appreciation for it.

But I made this name for myself back on Fanfiction.net when I wanted to change my username. So I took something I liked, which are Nintendo consoles and games. The 55 is my birth date, May 5th. The idea for that came from my friend Nevet1212, since his birthday is on December 12th. As for gal…well, I’m a girl! Simple as that, eh? ;)

What is your dream career?

An author!

When did you start writing?

When I was twelve, I wrote my first fanfiction. I never posted it, since hey, back then I knew next to nothing about the internet. After that, I wrote some little things here and there. I realized my dream to be a writer when I was fourteen, and it just kind of stuck with me since then.

But let’s just say that you don’t want me to go back into the old days of my writing. You really don’t.

What are you writing right now?

Whatever happens to be inspiring me, in terms of fanfiction. At the moment, in terms of original work I hope to publish, I am currently working on a novella.

What is your novella about?

It’s actually my dad’s idea, but he pitched it for me to write, which I was happy to do. When originally concocted, it was meant to be a short story with a twist ending. However, Dad later came to me and told me a more extended idea of it. So aside from elements of the basic premise, I took everything else to fill in.

The story is about four college graduates who connect on the Internet together, but later three when one of the characters is killed off. It then delves into a murder mystery, especially when the source seems to have come from the computer and its hardware.

The genre essentially is mystery, with drama, and also contains friendship. It still has the original twist ending, but I shall not give it away.

It’s called Cyber Connections.

When will it be done?

I can’t tell you that for sure. But hopefully some time this year, I will be. When it is, I’ll make an announcement about it. Dad’s lined up a publishing opportunity thanks to some friends of his, so we’ll see in the next while. But I will finish it, I am determined.

Do you have other works you want to publish?

As a matter of fact, I do! I have a few short stories that I wrote, and plan to write more. I also have another novel idea I plan to do, which this time will be a psychological horror story. This one is based on a dream I once had. No, not like Meyer, no no! I talked it over with a friend of mine and she offered some suggestions for some plot elements. I’ll work on that after I finishCyber Connections.

I also am playing around with a murder mystery story that’s told through the protagonist’s diary. It’s heavily inspired by the Slender Man, but whether or not he exists in that story is a mystery. This one involves the protagonist trying to solve the mystery of the death of his best friend.

What is the airstrip velocity of an unladen swallow?

What do you mean? African or European?

(If you have not seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail, you will not understand the line or joke. XP)

What is your favourite colour?

Single, taken, married?

Single. I really am not quite comfortable with the idea of dating. Not that I’m afraid of commitment, I just don’t think I’ll do it well. If you ask me out, I’m gonna say no. I appreciate the sentiment, especially if you’re genuine about it, but I don’t think that’s a good idea for me.

Do you want to be friends?

Sure! Now that I can do, I like to make friends if I can. I have some of my closest friends on the internet, and I’m always open to friendship! Of course, we do have to let it evolve naturally.

And you know, if you have something you want to say or just want to drop a hello, you’re more than welcome to. I don’t bite!

Why are you so shy?

Because I’m socially awkward. I never have an easy time approaching people, I’m very quiet and introverted, soft-spoken, and I just really am not a social animal. It didn’t help that no one was nice to me in all my years of schooling, which turned me off completely and left me to be a loner. I was made fun of or ignored. How fun do you think that is? It isn’t. Kind of part of why school leaves me severely bitter about it.

So, if you see me in person, I will have a tough time looking you in the eye. But as long as you’re nice or at least civil, I will be more than glad to be nice right back. If you come over to me and say hello or ask me a question, of course I’m going to respond!

If I don’t know you well, don’t expect me to send a message…I chicken out in doing this a lot. It is NOTHING PERSONAL. I’m just a little wuss and let my nervousness get the better of me. Sometimes yes, I will pull through! I’ve managed to here and there in the past, and I’m trying my best not to let myself chicken out.

Why do you like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?

Let me answer your question with another question. Why not? I could go on for days why I like the show. But I won’t. I love the show because it has excellent writing, good lessons to learn, likable characters, interesting premises, and while it may be aimed at kids, is also meant to appeal to older audiences.

But really, Tara Strong said it best when she said that there really is no definitive answer about why someone likes it. It kind of goes the same way for just about any other series we like.

Simply put, it’s awesome and I love it. I don’t even think of it as My Little Pony. I think of it as a show on its own.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Living on my own, still writing, with a dog. Maybe working a job if I need to in order to support my writing. Preferably surrounded by nature.

What is your favourite Nintendo game of all time?

That’s a toss up between The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask or Paper Mario. The former is also my favourite Zelda game to date, withTwilight Princessjust barely reaching it. The Paper Mario trilogy is great. …Except the third one, that’s my least favourite.

Can I message you on some kind of instant messenger?

Yes, but only if I at least know you fairly enough. I’m not about to clutter my messenger with all kinds of strangers and then get talked at every time I log on.

I have Yahoo!, Skype, AIM, and MSN. Either one is fine, but I’m on MSN or Yahoo more, sometimes Skype too.

Just send me a private message about it.

Can I e-mail you?

Again, only if I at least know you enough. You can message me for my e-mail, especially if we are to exchange something when needed.

Do you take requests for fanart/fanfiction?

No, I don’t. I only take requests from friends. I am definitely open to suggestions, but I’m not about to take requests from people I don’t know. Commissions, on the other hand, I take for literature. I might take art commissions, but my drawings are abysmal, so I don’t recommend that. You can message me about that if you want to for further questions.

What other websites are you on?

I am on YouTube, deviantART, Fanfiction.net, FIMFiction, Twitter, Livejournal and Blip. I would post links here, but I cannot. So you can message me if you want a link to any of them.

Why do you write some words with “our” or words ending with “re”?

Canadian, live in Canada, and that’s how we write. In fact, that’s kind of the way the rest of the world does. Kilometre, centre, favour, colour, that’s actually the correct way of writing these words.

And that’s about all I can think of for now. If you can put up with my craziness, I think we’ll get along just fine. :D

Sally Doll Photos!

Hello, all! :D

Well, I just got the BEST. BIRTHDAY PRESENT. EVER.

Not even the 26-inch HDTV and DVD player (I bought the player) could beat it!

My friend Shmoog from dA, just gave me something awesome. She had it mailed to me. And I am just speechless. To think she would do such a wonderful thing. ...I just had no words. Oh my God.

It's a Sally doll.

Couples Meme: Jack and Sally

My buddy translated this meme here for me. A couple's meme. And she requested that I do my OTP, Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Well, considering my love for the pair and how much different they will be for this meme, challenge was accepted!

I will be going by all the canon of the two games, and the movie. Because the movie IS set in 1993 (look at Jack's chalkboard, he puts the date), there will be references to that, as well.

With no further ado, let us begin!

Halloween Piccies

Nothing special to report! But I did want to share some photos in the best way right here. :3

I dressed up as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. As explained on dA, bought the costume, which came with a dress, glovelets, and a wig.

So here it is.

Sally, as if she had too much Halloween candy, and shrunk. XD

Here I am as Sally. I did some editing on Photoshop and Picasa, but other than that, it's all me! I bought the costume, but I did my own makeup. I based the poses on the ones done by the Sally in Disneyland, California. :)

Here's a full body shot. :3 I once actually had a pair of PERFECT high heeled shoes that almost resembled her shoes. Sadly, these are the only pair I have. :< I don't have socks like hers, either. Oh well.

A random shot of mah feet. As you can see I drew stitches on my legs and around my ankles, too!

My attempt at a...well, kinda worried Sally in a bit of a slouch. XD

This one isn't so bad, I tried yet another kind of pose of herself and took on a bit of a sad expression, kind of. So there!

And those are my Sally pictures. :3 I'll try to wear it again for conventions of I attend them this spring or summer. ^w^ :)

Yet another CM Response

Hello and welcome back. :D

This is yet another response to something related to Confused Matthew. OwO He recently started a new thread of reviews called "Miniviews", in which he gives brief reviews on certain kinds of films that don't exactly meet the "Confused Matthew Review" criteria.

The first one he did was "Lion King 1 1/2", the midquel to the first film, and prequel to the second film.

I will go ahead and first say that I adore this movie. Yes, because I'm a fan of the Lion King, and I love Timon and Pumbaa. That's quite obvious. XD But moreover, I love this movie. I love the backstory and foundations they give to Timon, I loved seeing the first film at a different angle, the big jokes poked at the first film, everything. It was wonderful.

Is it a masterpiece? Not so much. Is it terrible? No way, not if your a Lion King fan and a fan of these two characters. Is it entertaining? Hell yes! Is it a good movie? VERY good movie.

In my opinion, I really love it. I really do. <3

So, CM did a miniview of this movie, and I have to say that I'm impressed. He really paid attention and saw all the good things about the movie. Yes, he thinks that seeing the first movie from a different angle (same thing he said about the second Back To The Future movie), and yes, thinks that it's a children's film strictly and not entirely meant for people like him. Okay, I can understand sine he IS right, it's meant for kids and fans of The Lion King. XD But, none the less I'm glad he looked at it and talked about it a bit.

Anyway, I was glad he did this and what he said made me pretty happy. He said that Timon actually was redeeming in this film, and recognized the good things he said and did. I mean, while I disagree with his opinion of him in regards to the first and second film, I definitely agreed with what he said about him in THIS film. Again, I'm glad he recognized the redeeming factors of his character in this movie.

One thing he said was actually interesting that I honestly never thought of before! He said that during the scene that Simba is telling Timon that he had a bad dream one night, CM said that he had this ragging feeling in his subconscious that the bad dream might've pertained to the death of Mufasa. That makes perfect sense! I don't know why I didn't think of it that way before. I maybe subconsciously I might have! xD Who knows? But yeah, I really wouldn't be surprised if that bad dream at the time was about the death of his father. I loved that scene in the movie too, it was very nice. <3

Overall, I was impressed with his miniview and I'm glad he talked a bit about it, even if it wasn't a full review. Thanks a lot, Confused Matthew. 8D

What a dream

Last night, though I don't remember it all...I had a strange dream. O.O

The only thing I remember about it was the ending. There was a little baby. At first I saw said baby (I think it was a boy, but I don't know) laying on something, and at a close up, with the "camera" being sideways. It was dark, with only a little light on the baby.

And then some moments later, Heather Mason from Silent Hill 3 is walking out from something like a subway tunnel (though with no stairs) with a crowd of people around her (this was taking place in a big city), and she was holding the baby. She looked like a real live-action woman, aside that her features looked a bit more like the Sims 2 version of her that I have on my Sims 2 game. XD She was wearing her usual Silent Hill 3 attire, and also had a flashlight and a couple of things dangling from around her waist. There was sweeping music playing, it felt like the end of a movie, as Heather walked into the darkened, crowded streets of the city with the baby in her arms.

Amazing. XD I have no idea what to make of it.
